Aviation Ornithology Group (AOG)
has organized and hosted the Second Sectoral Conference
“Birds and Flights of Aviation” on 04-06 March 2019 on the grounds of art-hotel Lecco in Mytischi, Moscow area.
The Conference was attended by wildlife hazard management specialists from Russian airports and airlines, representatives of central and regional
bodies of air transport administration of Russian Federation and aviation specialists from CIS countries.
Goals of the Second Sectoral Conference
a) to discuss, generalize and share practical experience of wildlife hazard management on Russian air transport;
b) to change approach to biological data during investigations of air incidents and accidents that involve wildlife;
c) to improve qualitatively the level of planning, organization and implementation of wildlife hazard management activities conducted by airports,
airlines and air transport administration;
d) to increase efficiency of bioacoustic birdscaring method as applied at aerodrome grounds;
e) to draw up a list of proposals for Russian Ministry of
Transportation on improvement of regulatory and legal framework of wildlife hazard management;
f) to develop and establish new contacts between sectoral methodological and expert body (AOG) and specialists
from Russian and foreign airports, airlines and central and regional bodies
of Russian air transport administration in the field of wildlife strike prevention and wildlife hazard management.
Conference participants were accommodated in Mytischi in the rooms of art-hotel Lecco and hotel Gerda at a special reduced rate.

were formed by the host according to participants’ applications and topics announced.
